Sun Fook Kong Successfully Organized Volunteer Activity – Family Day with the Disabledarrow
(Hong Kong, 11 March 2017) Sun Fook Kong and SAHK New Territories East Home Support Service jointly organized a volunteer activity "Family Day with the Disabled" on 11 March. Sun Fook Kong’s volunteers actively participated in the event, had lunch and played games with dozens of physically handicapped and their families in restaurant, enjoying a pleasant weekend.

A total of 15 Sun Fook Kong volunteers participated in the event and helped the physically handicapped have lunch, play games and join the lucky draw. This was the first time that Sun Fook Kong’s volunteers independently picked up the physically handicapped between their homes and the restaurants, with wheelchair and barrier-free taxis, providing an opportunity for the physically handicapped to step out of their ward and enjoy a warm and joyful spring day outside.

A week before the event, SAHK New Territories East Home Support Service held a training course especially for the Sun Fook Kong’s volunteers to learn to control the wheelchairs. The physiotherapists of SAHK demonstrated the skills to control the wheelchairs and also provided an opportunity for the volunteers to practice in order that they could get familiar with the control of the wheelchairs in a short period of time.

Sun Fook Kong has always been committed to making contributions to society. In future, Sun Fook Kong will continue to organize various types of volunteer activities with its partners and encourage its staffs to participate in more different community services.
