“Sun Fook Kong Safety Awards Scheme 2015” Officially Launchedarrow
(Hong Kong, 16 January 2015) Sun Fook Kong held the opening ceremony of “Sun Fook Kong Safety Awards Scheme 2015” at the Paramount International Banquet Hall in Kowloon Bay on 16 January. Over 400 staffs from Sun Fook Kong Project Management and Safety Department and contractors attended the event.
 
This year, Sun Fook Kong has established a new Safety Standard. Mr. Hilman Yung, Safety Director of the Group said during his speech, “The new Safety Standard is used to provide guideline on some special work procedures for all project teams and subcontractors. We hope to improve our current safety management system and to achieve excellence in site safety performance.”
 
Following the opening ceremony of “Sun Fook Kong Safety Awards Scheme 2015”, around 50 awards were presented to the Year 2014 winners. “The Good Housekeeping Award” and “The Best Performance Project Safety Award” are two highlighted awards in this safety award scheme. The “Provision of Barrier-free Access Facilities for Highways Structures - Phase 3 Contract 1” project winning the championship of “Good Housekeeping Award 2014”, while two projects: the “District Term Contract for the Maintenance & the Vacant Flat Refurbishment Works for Properties Managed by Property Service Administration Unit / Wong Tai Sin, Tsing Yi, Tsuen Wan and Islands (2) 2012/15” and the “Harbour Area Treatment Scheme Stage 2A - Upgrading Works at Stonecutters Island Sewage Treatment Works - Main Pumping Station, Sedimentation Tanks and Ancillary Facilities” winning the championship of “The Best Performance Project Safety Award 2014”.
 
Moreover, there were total 121 contractors and 28 project teams being awarded in the “Zero Accident Award Scheme 2014”. The award was given to those who achieved zero accident frequent rate and with no reportable accident in 2014, and the number of winners had been surprised the senior management of the Group.
 
Besides, the result of the “Star Foreman Award Scheme 2014” was announced during the event. Within a total of 16 foremen, Mr. Choy Wai Kwai from the “Provision of Barrier-free Access for Highway Structures – Phase 3 Contract 1” project was the final winner of the Star Foreman Award, while the other 15 foreman receiving the Outstanding Foreman Award and the Star Foreman Award – Merit respectively.
 
In future, Sun Fook Kong will continue to enhance the safety awareness among its staffs and improve the work environment with a view to achieving zero accident in its construction sites.
