Sun Fook Kong (Civil) Limited Wins Contract for the Provision of Barrier-free Access Facilities for Highways Structuresarrow
(Hong Kong, 26 March 2013) Sun Fook Kong (Civil) Limited has been awarded a HK$370 million contract by the Highways Department for the construction of barrier-free access facilities, including lifts and ramps, and the related civil works, electrical and mechanical works, site investigation works, road works and landscaping works etc. in 12 locations in Hong Kong.

To promote a friendly society, Hong Kong Government keeps improving the accessibility to different facilities for the disabled. Upon completion of the works, 17 lifts and 3 ramps will be constructed for existing footbridges and subways in 12 locations in Wan Chai District, Eastern District, Southern District, Yau Tsim Mong District and Sham Shui Po District. Moreover, road works and landscaping works will carry out to further enhance the barrier-free environment.

The project has commenced in March 2013 and it is expected to be completed in September 2016. It is a meaningful project to Sun Fook Kong which could help the disabled to improve their living environment and to promote a harmonious society.
